I paid $2,400 to learn from a 70-year-old genius — and here's what I did with what he taught me.
Last weekend, I invested $2,400 to attend a 2-day seminar led by Dr. John Demartini, a 70-year-old polymath and pioneer in human potential.

He has read over 30,000 books, writes daily, and at one point in his 20s, was consuming 70–80 books a week.
He's also lost 33 book manuscripts when his computer was stolen (it was in the 90s so he didn't have Google Drive or cloud-based backups 😣)
Still, he never stopped.
And now?
He travels the world with just his phone, tablet and laptop — using tech to research, teach, and create wherever he is.
I watched this inspired man draw countless diagrams and frameworks live, synthesising cosmology, biology, psychology and every other "-ology" well beyond my brain's capacity.

And I was furiously writing to keep up, resulting in over 30 pages of iPad notes.

Every 20-30 minutes, he'd integrate a concept that was slightly beyond the scope of the seminar.
So instead of taking us on a 1-hour tangent, he'd pause and prompt each of us to look things up on our own.
Because that's what he's doing himself - every day.
Not browsing garbage newsfeeds, but consciously researching information every time he hits the limits of his current knowledge and awareness.
That's when it hit me.
This 70-year-old was using modern technology, just like his research assistant, as he admitted that he couldn't practically travel with his collection of over 30,000 books.
So inspired by his example, I asked myself:
How can I leverage AI as a world-class research assistant to wrap my head around the nuggets being shared by Dr. Demartini?
Here's what I came up with:
Step 1 - I logged everything in a single AI chat thread
In the past, I would either:
- Write them down on paper
- Open a new Google search for each concept; or
- Type them into an unorganised Apple Notes/Notion document.
But that would be more work for me in the future, revisiting those scattered notes.
So this time, I instructed ChattyG to "take notes" alongside me whenever Demartini shared an unfamiliar idea for me to research later.

And so it got to work.

Step 2 - Prompt AI with 'Deep Research' mode
Once the seminar wrapped up and my brain was bursting, I went back to my thread and turned on Deep Research mode (think researching the internet but on steroids)

Then I shared my instructions for the output that I wanted it to generate for me.

And again, it got to work.

Step 3 - Reformat and export the results
And after ~10 minutes of sweeping the internet for relevant and reputable resources:

...I asked it to compile and format the results into a format I could easily copy + paste into a Notion document for easy reading.

And The Final Result?
A personalised, digestible daily curriculum — synthesised from 2 days of mind-bending wisdom — powered by a $20/month AI assistant, that took ~10 minutes to compile.
If you're interested in seeing the output yourself, head to this public link of my AI-powered research document, where I'll be committing 15 minutes each day to review a new topic.

I trust that this workflow inspires you to re-imagine an AI-enhanced workflow that helps you work smarter, and not harder, with your day-to-day work.
And I'll leave you with a powerful question Demartini shared to ask yourself every day:
"What is the highest priority action I can take today,
that will serve the greatest number of people across the world,
in the most efficient and effective manner,
with the resources I have available to me?"
As always, I hope these words serve you 🙏🏽
