Last weekend, I was standing in the back of an abandoned factory in Brisbane, grinning like a proud uncle. I was witnessing a full-circle moment unfold.
Hundreds of creatives, cameras flashing, energy high, models walking, mentors sharing wisdom.

And one man, one brand and one dream at the centre of it all.
Enter: James Rush.

Nearly two years ago, I first connected with James Rush @itsjamesrush over Instagram after he tuned into a live stream I ran with Tom Noske.

We bonded instantly.
Both Aussies navigating tall poppy syndrome in our professional pursuits, both obsessed with brand and storytelling, both wanting to do things our way.
James had already built a prolific career & personal brand with his creative agency.
Having humble creative roots as a radio show host in Canberra, he has now collaborated with dozens of international sports and hip-hop legends, including the late Kobe Bryant, Kendrick Lamar, Kim Kardashian, Ruby Rose, Patty Mills and more.

But what lit him up most wasn't the celebrity work.
He was using his hard-earned lessons, experience, and knowledge to empower creatives a few steps behind him and helping them achieve the same breakthrough in their careers that he had.
Those who are craving a community, mentorship and guidance in their creative career.
And I saw the result of that vision in full motion.
A sold-out crowd at a Brisbane workshop, under his community brand One Shot.

A nationwide movement of meet-ups, workshops and online programs for creatives that James built from scratch.

Here's the wildest part:
James went full-time with One Shot just three months after launching it.

No algorithms.
No agency.
Just guidance to help him connect his own dots, and a clear offer formed from the needs of his community.

Building Without Burnout
If you're a content-led founder (or know someone who is) and you've got an idea for taking your expertise and turning it into a powerful, profitable and sustainable offer—whether that's a cohort, community, or hybrid model—there's a path forward.
A path that doesn't require burning out or selling out.
I want to partner with founders who value depth over hype. People who want to build movements, not just funnels. People who don't want to be told what to do, but a process to finally make it "click" for you.
People like James.

If that sounds like you, you know where to find me.
As always, I hope these words inspire and serve you today.
