Yesterday, I wrapped up my IG Story "60 Second Standup" series, going out with a bang 💥
In the video, I delivered a live mix featuring Prince's 'I Wanna Be Your Lover' and Michael Gray's 'Borderline', while MCing a message of appreciation to my community for following along 🙏🏽 ❤️

From seeing how smoothly I appeared to have delivered it, you might think that I nailed it on the first take...
If so, think again...
🔁 Take after take...
Yup. I still fail over and over when it comes to creating content.
From doing this for over 10 years, one of the most important lessons I've had is that your success does not come from minimising the amount of "failures" you have.
It comes from reframing what failure means to you.
As Aaron Barnes (@aaronb_tv), one of Storyteller Sprint alumni, perfectly and succinctly said in one of his recent videos:
"Failure is data"
That's all it is.
It's just a point of feedback that helps you course-correct so you can (eventually) move towards your version of success.
What do you do with the feedback?
You adapt.
Quickly.
In my case, I was on a strict deadline to get my video up before the end of the day.
And because I couldn't find a simple playbook for executing the type of video I wanted to publish (i.e. my version of "success"), I needed to fail fast and adapt even __faster_.
That's because I was figuring out how to coordinate simultaneously:
- My Traktor S2 MK3 DJ decks
- The Traktor Pro app for the DJ mix
- My Shure MV7 microphone for MCing
- My iPhone 13 Pro to capture 2 camera angles
- The OBS Studio app for recording all the content
- My MacBook Pro laptop acting as the hub for the madness
And every "failed" attempt at recording my video was simply feedback that taught me what not to do next time I went to record the video.
Are you willing to fail?
I can't guarantee you that your first takes will be perfect.
Nor can I for your 2nd, 5th or 10th takes.
But I can guarantee you that the more you do it, the more feedback you'll have about what does and doesn't work.
An environment where you'll be surrounded by a supportive, like-minded community all "failing" (a lot) with their content creation, to close the gap between where they are and where they want to be with their digital influence, impact & income.
So if:
- You're willing to learn, take action and improve quickly
- You're an active contributor and value-add to groups
- You believe "80% done is better than 100% perfect"
- You're growth-minded and embrace failing fast
- You thrive on taking "imperfect action"
Then we'd love to have you join our community.
Pumped to help you conquer your content creation together.
